Spooky Screenplays

This week, we were looking at spooky screenplays - which are a bit different to scripts for theatre. We got inspired reading an extract from Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' Dracula TV series, when Jonathan Harker first meets Dracula at his castle. We looked at how the writers build tension, and also how a screenplay is formatted on the page.

Inspired by this, the young writers worked on their own spooky screenplays (just in time for Halloween!)

Int- Dracula Castle- Night.                                                                    

Jonathan: I'm sorry Sir.                                                                  

 Dracula: Don't address me as sir.                                                 

 Jonathan: Ok, my bad.                                                                          

Dracula: Anyways what's your favourite food? 

Jonathan: Garlic Bread.                                                                 

Dracula's face instantly went pale and even Jonathan realised that.                                                                      

Jonathan: You don't like garlic?                                                             

  Dracula: I fear them the most!                                                               

Jonathan: How are you scared of garlic? Unless... unless you are a vampire...
